More and more friends like to play billiards, but do you know what is the difference between what we usually call “Chinese billiards” and “Chinese eight ball”? “Chinese billiards” and ‘Chinese eight ball’ play and game rules are not the same, now to give you a detailed introduction:

2. Referees
Zone Referee: The “Zone Referee” format means that one referee referees matches played on several tables at the same time, rather than refereeing a single match. The standard rule for the Chinese Eight Ball International Masters Tournament is one referee per table.
3. Legal Tee-off (Men)
General Rules of Chinese Billiards Competition
If a target ball is legally in the pocket, the kicker will continue to hit the ball and the game will remain open; if the kicker does not have a legal target ball in the pocket, at least four target balls must touch the edge of the bank after hitting the ball in order to be considered a legal kickoff.
Chinese Eight-Ball International Masters Tournament Standard Rules of Play
Men’s legal tee shots must meet the requirement of “four balls crossing the line”. That is to say, one-half or more of the four target balls (including the 8-ball but excluding the white ball) pass the tee line, or one ball is in the pocket and three balls pass the tee line, or two balls are in the pocket and two balls pass the tee line, or three balls are in the pocket and one ball passes the tee line, or four or more target balls are in the pocket. A ball in the pocket that crosses the line is considered to be 2 balls (times) past the tee line.
4. Legal Open Ball (Women)
General Regulations for Chinese Billiards Competition

For an obvious small power shot, without the four target balls to eat the ball, the player is awarded an intentional foul (instead of being awarded a missed shot), and the player is awarded a loss of one game.
6. Illegal Tee Off
Chinese Billiards General Regulations A ball flying off the table or a white ball falling into a pocket during tee-off is considered a foul, and the opponent has the right to hit the ball freely behind the line, and can only place the ball behind the tee-off line and hit it in the direction of the top bank.
