1. Eight-ball play
Objective:
To pocket all of your target balls (balls 1 through 7 or 9 through 15) within the allotted number of games, and finally to pocket the 8-ball.
Kickoff:
The kicker is determined by guessing first. If a ball is in the pocket after the kickoff, the kicker may continue to hit the ball, otherwise the opponent hits the ball.
Batting order:
A player must hit the smallest ball on the table with each stroke. If a player mistakenly hits the 8-ball into the pocket or hits the 8-ball out of the table, the opponent wins the game.
2. Nine-Ball Play
Goal:
Starting with the No. 1 ball and hitting the balls in order, the first player to hit the No. 9 ball into the pocket wins.
Kickoff:
Behind the teeing line, the teeing player is free to choose a teeing position and hit the ball from the No. 1 ball.
Special Rule:
In nine-ball play, any ball hit off the table is a foul and the opponent gets a free ball.
3. Snooker Play
Objective: To score points by hitting the ball. The first player to reach the required number of points or to finish the required number of games wins the game.
Tee-off: Before teeing off, the home ball must be placed in the teeing-off area (D). After teeing off, the first team to hit the ball determines a ball (single color or pattern) to be its target ball, and after hitting all of its target balls into the pocket, the team that hits the 8-ball into the pocket wins the game.
Scoring rules: 1 point for each red ball, 2 points for yellow ball, 3 points for green ball, 4 points for coffee ball, 5 points for blue ball, 6 points for pink ball, 7 points for black ball. The batter must hit the red balls first, then the colored balls, alternating until all the red balls are in the bag, then hit the colored balls in descending order.
