About the corners of the billiard table
Many people think that the table with wide corners looks good, but practice has proved that some wide corners are prone to the situation of the ball popping out. This is because if the corner is made wide, the distance from the corner to the tabletop will be reduced, and the chance of the ball jumping to the tabletop will be greater.
To solve this problem, first, calculate the appropriate width of the corner, then calculate the height and position of the corner jack, and then consider the opening position of the slate and the inclination of the leather corner. After comprehensive consideration and careful design, it is still possible to achieve wide corners without the ball popping out.
In addition, the best way to identify whether the corner is appropriate is to test the ball hitting on-site. A corner design that doesn’t make the ball pop out and the popped-out ball can’t hit the edge of the horizontal surface of the slate is a standard corner design.

The leather corner should not be too thick, and the edge of the corner should not be made too round;
The leather corner and the corner should not be wrapped too loosely. The “Kudao” of steel cushions is generally better than that of wooden cushions;
The hardness of the middle beam of the armrest is not enough;
The screws that fix the armrest to the slate are not tight enough;
Good rubber cushions can indeed bring good “Kudao” to the armrests;
The height of the rubber cushions can affect the speed of the ball. The higher the rubber cushion height, the slower the ball speed;
The tablecloth can also affect the ball speed.
About the elasticity of the billiard table
Use your hand to throw the ball close to the table surface with force or hit the ball hard with a cue, and check the number of rebounds of the ball on the long or short side of the table to determine the size of the elasticity. Generally, for wooden cushions, it rebounds 3-4 times, and for steel cushions, it rebounds 5-6 times, which is the standard “Kudao”.
